The Orchestre d'harmonie de Pantin is one of the oldest non-professional wind orchestras in Île de France. Situated 10 minutes from Paris Gare du Nord and 10 minutes walking distance from Paris Porte de Pantin, the orchestra is made up of approximately 50 musicians of all ages, backgrounds and origins, from France to the UK and the USA. Although many of our orchestra members are from Pantin, many others come from all over the Paris region.
Our musical repertoire is original and rewarding and is renewed three times a year. We embrace a wide range of genres including classical music adapted for concert band, film music and world music, from a variety of composers, including Aaron Copland, Gustav Holst, John Williams, Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré, George Gershwin, Francis Poulenc and many more. We also work with contemporary composers, such as Olivier Calmel, Damien Deshaye, Leonardo Sanchez, Gustavo Beytelmann and Marc Steckar. The orchestra has been conducted by Laurent Langard since 1992.
We are currently in search of new, enthusiastic musicians of intermediate to advanced level, in particular French horn players, percussionists, tubas, oboe players. Trumpets, trombone players and clarinettists are also very welcome. Whether your stay in France is for one year or twenty, we would be delighted to have you.
Rehearsals are every Friday from 8:30pm to 10:30pm at 2 rue Sadi Carnot, Pantin. Membership is 40€ per year, which also covers certain musical workshops and aperitifs held throughout the year.
